Today, Michigan Sugar Company is the third-largest beet sugar processor in the United States and the only remaining sugar company in the state! Its combined factories have a beet-slicing capacity of 22,000 tons per day and an ability to produce over one billion pounds of sugar each year.
Michigan Sugar Company has nearly 1,000 grower-owners and employs approximately 1,000 seasonal employees at 14 beet receiving stations. These seasonal employees are an integral part of making yearly sugar production a great success.
